USO OF NEW ENGLAND LAUNCHES OPERATION "CONNECT FOR FREEDOM" WHICH PROVIDES FREE DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL CALLING TO MOST COUNTRIES ALLOWING NEW ENGLAND RESIDENTS TO CONTACT FAMILY AND FRIENDS AROUND THE USA AND THE WORLD OPERATION "Connect for Freedom" allows people to talk for free after connecting through the International Calling Hub. Boston, MA (March 21, 2003) – The USO of New England is proud to introduce OPERATION "CONNECT FOR FREEDOM," a way for friends and family to stay in touch during these troubled times with free calling, after connecting through the International Calling Hub, to USA and most countries around the world. Currently thousands of American service men and women have been called into active duty, leaving behind family and friends. The USO is providing a way to bring "A Touch of Home" to loved ones through phone communication. The USO has teamed up with a local telecom company to offer anyone in Massachusetts or Rhode Island Free domestic and international calling. "It is extremely important to keep in touch with loved ones during this difficult and emotional time." said Alice Harkins, Executive Director - USO of New England, "The ability to reach family and friends is critical." Starting on Sunday, March 23, 2003, USO of New England will kick-off OPERATION "CONNECT FOR FREEDOM." For a limited time, anyone in Massachusetts or Rhode Island can participate by dialing an International Calling Hub (normal local or toll charges may apply) and then following the easy instructions for free calling.
