The USO of New England's Greater Boston Center is located in the heart of Boston's North End. Housed within the United States Coast Guard Integrated Support Command (ISC) at 427 Commercial Street, USO is within easy access to and from Public Transportation. You’ll find our center in Building 8, on the second floor (deck).

Public Transportation

Take the Green Line or the Orange Line to North Station. Walk down Causeway Street to Commercial Street. The USO Center and the USCG ISC is where Commercial St. meets Hanover St.

Take the Orange Line to Haymarket, walk down Hanover Street to the end.

Take the Blue Line to Aquarium Stop. Walk down Atlantic Avenue to Commercial Street.

Take the Red Line to Park Street. Change to the Green Line to North Station. Walk down Causeway Street to Commercial Street.

FROM THE NORTH (Maine, NH etc.) - Follow I-93 S into the city. Take exit 25: Haymarket/Gov’t Ctr. At bottom of ramp, take right on New Chardon St & immediate right on Canal St (or 2nd right on Merrimack St). Follow Canal (or Merrimack) to Causeway St (front of North Station); turn right on Causeway St. Proceed straight on Causeway (pass N. Washington St.) & Causeway becomes Commercial. Take Commercial for approx 1/2 mile; USO is in the US Coast Guard ISC Boston base on left at signal at foot of Hanover St.

From Crossing the Tobin Bridge - Crossing Tobin Bridge, be in the right lane. Take exit for Charlestown / Rutherford Ave. At traffic signal at end of ramp, turn right; proceed straight thru next traffic signal; follow signs to North End. Get to left lane when crossing Charlestown (N. Washington St) Bridge. Turn left at 1st traffic signal after bridge onto Causeway St (Causeway becomes Commercial). Follow Commercial for approx 1/2 mile; USO is in the US Coast Guard ISC Boston base on left at signal at foot of Hanover St.

FROM THE SOUTH (Cape Cod, RI etc.) - Follow I-93N into the city. Go through the South Station Tunnel. Approx 1 mile past the tunnel, take right lane Exit 25, for Causeway Street / N. Station. Take right at bottom of ramp on Causeway St; proceed to & straight through traffic signal at N. Washington St onto Commercial St. (Causeway St becomes Commercial St). Follow Commercial St for approx 1/2 mile; USO is in the US Coast Guard ISC Boston base on left at signal at foot of Hanover St.

FROM THE WEST - take Rte. 2 (East) to Storrow Dr. (East) to North Station, Fleet Center. Go onto Causeway St. and continue to Commercial Street. The USCG ISC will be on your left after the skating rink and the park.

From the Mass Pike - Follow the Mass Pike to end in Boston; follow signs for I-93 N NORTH. Enter South Station Tunnel; then follow the directions above for "From the South."

Note for Non-Military Visitors:

Try to contact us before you plan your visit. A security gate stops all people entering the Coast Guard Base. If we advise them in advance of your visit, it will expedite your authorization to come "on board"!
